Shipping freight to a Las Vegas show

Leer en español

There are three ways to get your booth onto a Las Vegas show floor. Which one fits depends on how much you ship, how much control you want over the timing, and how much material handling you'll pay. Your show's exhibitor manual has the exact dates and forms.

What to know

Advance warehouse

You ship to the show contractor's warehouse ahead of time and it delivers to your booth before you arrive. For Freeman shows at the LVCC, such as SEMA and IBS, the warehouse has been at 6675 W Sunset Road. It takes freight weekdays only, and late arrivals cost extra.

What the warehouse won't take

At IBS, the advance warehouse accepted only crated, boxed or skidded freight, and nothing perishable because it has no temperature control.

Direct to show site

Trucks check in at the marshaling yard and must arrive on your assigned target date. Freight that arrives early or late is off target and can be charged extra. At IBS, drivers had to check in by 2:30 pm.

FedEx, UPS and DHL

Small parcels go straight to the convention center, but not before the date in the manual. For SEMA 2024, parcels couldn't arrive before October 31.

Carrying it in yourself

At SEMA 2024, only company employees could hand-carry, each item had to be light enough for one person, a second person had to stay with the vehicle, and unloading had to be done within 30 minutes. A small two-wheel dolly was allowed.

Small booth allowance

Some shows include free material handling for small booths. At SEMA 2024, booths of 400 sq ft or less got up to 500 lbs handled free.

Going home

Every outbound shipment needs a bill of lading, a material handling agreement and labels, handed to the contractor's freight desk once you're packed. Check the dismantle schedule before booking your carrier's pickup.
