Who really works for ITC

ITC Vegas says outside companies scrape its site and pose as its team to sell exhibitor services, lead retrieval, hotel rooms or attendee lists. Its legitimate email domains are @insuretechconnect.com and @clarionevents.com, @events.cdsreg.com or @xpressreg.net for registration, @theexpogroup for booth setup and shipping, and @connectionshousing.com for hotels. Anything else, it says, is a scam.

No attendee list

ITC Vegas doesn't share or sell an attendee list. Its networking app, released a few weeks before the event, lets you find registered attendees and request 15-minute meetings.

Las Vegas rules that apply to every show

Fire permits

Clark County requires a fire permit for indoor trade shows with an occupant load of 300 or more. Larger shows submit a floor plan showing booths, aisles and exits, so keep your booth inside its approved footprint and your aisles clear.

Selling on the floor

If you sell goods at a show, you collect Nevada sales tax and hand a one-time return to the promoter before you leave. Sell at more than two Nevada events in 12 months and you need your own sales tax permit.
