Exhibitor appointed contractors (EACs)
An exhibitor appointed contractor is any outside company you hire to work in your booth instead of using the show's official contractor. Most big shows require you to register them before move-in.

What to know
- Definition
CES describes EACs as independent contractors hired by exhibiting companies, and runs a separate EAC registration in its exhibitor manuals.

- Union labor still applies
Outside vendors are allowed only when they use the right union labor for the venue. Hiring an EAC doesn't exempt work from union jurisdiction.

- Deadlines
EAC registration has its own deadline, often weeks before move-in. Find it in your manual and register early, since an unregistered contractor can be turned away at the door.
